Session 3: 35 Weeks – Early Parenthood & Newborn Care

  • The important role of your birth partner
  • Caring for your body after birth, including pelvic floor health and recovery
  • Caring for your emotional wellbeing
  • Recognizing problems that require urgent attention
  • Newborn care: health, early days tips, and guidance
  • Nappy changing and basic baby care
  • Infant feeding: breastfeeding, bottle feeding, skin-to-skin contact, bonding, and recognizing feeding cues
  • Success with newborns: baby care guidance from 6–12 weeks
  • Becoming a family: adjusting to new family roles and routines
  • Becoming a dad: support and guidance for new fathers
